That spirit is at the heart of National Health Center Week, celebrated this year from August 2–8, 2026. Sponsored by the National Association of Community Health Centers (NACHC), this annual observance recognizes the vital role Community Health Centers play in improving health and strengthening communities across the country.
This year’s theme, “Building Innovative Care Where It Matters Most” celebrates the creative, patient-centered approaches Community Health Centers use every day to improve access to quality healthcare and meet patients where they are.
Caring for Our Community
At Sharon Community Health Center, innovation isn’t just about new technology. It’s about finding better ways to care for our neighbors. For more than 25 years, SCHC has been committed to providing affordable, high-quality healthcare to individuals and families throughout the Shenango Valley. From primary care for patients of all ages to behavioral health services and pain management, our goal is to remove barriers to care and help every patient achieve their best possible health.
We know that good health is influenced by more than what happens during an office visit. That’s why SCHC works alongside community partners to address the everyday challenges that can affect a person’s well-being. Through our partnership with Mercer County Food Bank and the Food is Medicine initiative, eligible patients have access to nutritious food to help support healthier lives.
We’re also proud to partner with Do Good Period to offer personal care item shelves stocked with essential hygiene products for patients in need. In addition, our Warming Closet help provide seasonal essentials to community members during the colder months.
These initiatives reflect an important truth: when basic needs are met, people are better able to focus on their health. By listening to our community and responding with practical solutions, SCHC continues to build innovative care where it matters most.

Across the United States, Community Health Centers serve more than 52 million patients in over 17,000 communities, providing comprehensive, affordable healthcare regardless of a person’s insurance status or ability to pay.
